Common questions about selling timber.

Value of your Timber

Until we complete a thorough examination of your timber and property it will be difficult to give an accurate estimate of the value of your timber.  Factors including species composition, acres of timber for sale, terrain, market conditions and location will all affect the value of your timber.

Size of Harvests

Generally about 20 acres is as small as is economically feasible.  If the timber is of high quality or the area is in the near vicinity of another harvest we are currently working on, smaller tracts will be considered but tracts of over 50 acres are preferable.

Payment for Timber

We buy timber in two ways: "lump sum" or "pay as cut".

Lump Sum: In a lump sum sale the seller receives a one time payment of the full sum of the agreed upon price.  This price is determined through a timber cruise and an analysis of associated logging costs.

Pay as Cut:  In a pay as cut sale the seller is paid on a weekly basis.  The amount is determined by volume and grade harvested each week.
